USA Rugby Team Email
Today we were so excited, we got an email back from the USA Rugby Team. We asked them a couple of questions and they answered them for us. Lucky us! Check out what they said.
What’s it like playing rugby in America compared to New Zealand?
1) Rugby in America is a very small sport compared to American Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and several others. Not many people know about rugby and the National Team has around 3,000 to 4,000 people attending a match when played in America, which compared to 40,000 or more in New Zealand is quite a difference. Plus the population of America is around 300 million people, compared to 4 million in New Zealand.
How do you feel about being part of a team playing in the Rugby World Cup?
2) The RWC is the ultimate tournament in the rugby world. To get the opportunity to represent your country at the RWC is an amazing feeling, and these moments are very very special, as they might not come again. Having the tournament in NZ is extra special because of the rich rugby culture and support here.

Gym
On Thursday we went to Gym. When we arrived we met the instructor, then we played a game called Jellybean. It was fun. After that we got into 4 groups and started the activities. One was on the trap, you can jump really high on it. Another activity was the sponge pit. We jumped on a mini tramp and did a tuck jump. Before we left the gym we played a game with a parachute called sharks and life savers. The sharks crawled around under the parachute and pull us under and the life savers had grab our hands and pull us out. It was so much fun.

Rugby Day Out
Today went had a Rugby Day Out with Room 12. We started off our day creating a supporters song/rap for the rugby team of our choice. Check them out below. Next we moved to the Rugby Roadshow. We had lots of fun recording our own rugby stories and looking back in time. Some boys even found Sonny Bill in an old school photo. Lastly we went to the Art Gallery. We looked closely at Mike ?? art works. We then got an opportunity to create our own. When we got back to school we spent the afternoon colouring in flags of the countries involved in the rugby world cup. We also taught our buddies how to pass and catch a rugby ball. We loved our Rugby Day Out.

Duffy Show
Today we had a Duffy show. It was about this mean golfer wanting to shut the library down so he can use the money to build a golf course. Duffy and the Librarian had a debate. Yay they won!

We are RUGBY MAD!
Today we went for a walk with Room 2 and 12 to a house down the road which is just excited about the Rugby World Cup as we are. The owners have decorated their house with flags and a big All Blacks sign. The owners were so kind they allowed us into their yard to get a photo. Doesn't it look amazing!
The Eagles have landed!
Zane's Lucky Day!
The King of the Den and Striving for Accuarcy!
Better late than never...
Zane is our winner for striving for accuracy. He drew a fantastic new logo for the Rugby World Cup. I love the ball under the kiwi's arm.

The Mayors Office!!
Today we went to Annette Main's office. We were invited to have morning tea in the council chambers. The Mayor told us about her life and how she got to be where she is today. We got to wear the Mayoral Chain and see her robe. It was interesting. We also met an engineer,
we learnt about water. We were told all about the stained glass windows around the Chamber. There was a very old picture of a shark. Before we left we had a picture with Annette Main. We really enjoyed our time in the Council Chambers. A big thanks to Jack for organising it!
