Carlton's Got Talent

On Wednesday night we held our very own talent quest "Carlton's Got Talent". We had so many brave students who showed some great talent. We had a mixture of dances, songs and even a haka. Some of our boys were involved. We are so proud of them!

Open Morning

We had a great turn out of family on our Carlton School Open Morning. Our families got to join in with what we were doing. In Te Whare Maanaki with Mr Ohia we were working on places in Aotearoa Kupe named when he discovered our land and what they meant. Back in the classroom we did our recrafting of our narrative stories. It was great to get ideas and help from our family. Everyone enjoyed showing their family around the classroom and having them join us for the morning. We would like to thank everyone that came and welcome you all to pop in to our classroom any time.

The week is clean up New Zealand week. As a school we decided to help out. Every class went out and about to pick up all the rubbish we could find in our community. Our class went down to Springvale park. We were disgusted by the amount of rubbish we found. We are now working on letters to the council to make them aware of whats being dumped at the Freedom Camping spot in Springvale Park. We will publish some on here when we are done.

Cross Country

Today we had our school cross country. We are lucky enough to use Rutherford Junior High's bike track so it is more challenging for us. The boys pushed themselves and did really well. Good luck to the boys who will now be attending the interschool cross country.

Shape Monsters

For maths we have learnt lots about shapes. We learnt all about 2d shapes and 3d shapes; vertices, edges and faces. We used what we learnt to create shape monsters. We think they are pretty cool!
