Social Dancing

Today we had social dancing. It was the first time a lot of poeple in our class had done it. Remember boys to keep persisiting! You will get the dance moves eventually and have a great time at the social.

Shape Pictures

Today for maths Mrs Larsen got us to draw pictures using simple shapes. Check out what Kobi and Joshua did.

Interschool Athletics

Today 30 children from Carlton went to Cooks Gardens to compete in the interschool athletics. They all tried extremely hard and we had some placings. Way to go Britney, Kerwyn and David who all placed in the top 3 of their events. Check out the photos of our great day.

Tug Of War

Today we did another activity to expore force and friction. We had a tug of war. First we went into the hall, where the surface is smooth. We tried having a tug of war in shoes, socks and barefeet. We found the tug of war in sock extremely difficult as there was hardly any friction and we were sliding all over the place. We felt that there was more friction when we had barfeet.

Next we went outside on the grass and did the same. Once again socks was the hardest and barfeet the best.

So we know that when we have Race Day with our CO2 cars the hall will be the best place. We want to reduce friction so our cars go FAST!

Person of the week!

Our person of the week has had an awesome attitude and has tried extremely hard with his behaviour. He was very well behaved while we were on camp. Can you tell who it is?

School Athletics

Today we had our senior school athletics. We were split up into 8 teams and roatated around lots of activities like sprints, high jump, long jump and vortex throw. We have some awesome athletics at our school who will be off to interschool next week. Good luck guys.

Over the past week we have worked really hard to create some fantastic artwork for our calendars this year. We created what we thought Rainbow land would look like. They look amazing! So come on everybody, bring $4 to school and buy your very own calendar.

Person of the week!

Yay we win!

Today in assembly the school's PTA had a surprise. The Boys and Girls Gym Club gave the PTA a voucher for a class to have 1 free gym session. The PTA decided the make it fair on everyone they would draw a class out of a hat. Guess what... we won! Yay, we are so excited. Thank you so much, we can't wait to go.

Fish Art

We have been creating fish art. First we weaved a wavy background using 2 different coloured blues. Next we drew our fish, we went around them with a sharpie and dyed them. We cut out our fish and glued them onto the weave. I think they look great.

Person of the week!

Our person of the week has such a positive attitude towards learning. He always tries hard and is making some really good choices. Keep up the hard work. Create the puzzle to see who it is.

Today we were given our last class lot of duffy books. WE LOVE THEM!

School Spirit Day

Today we had another School Spirit Day. This time it was Rubbish Bag Day. Unfortunately our class didn't do to well and we only had 4 who dressed. Congrats Josh, Shannon, Dakota and Treyzhan for your effort. The rest of the school did an awesome job. Check out the pics William snapped at the parade.

Who has visited us?

A group of people from our class looked closely at the clustr map on our blog. The clustr map shows all the differnt places people have veiwed our blog from. We wanted to create our own clustr map in class. So firstly they found all the places that have visited our blog on our map and then they placed a drawing pin into the map. Now we know where all our blog visitors are coming from. I wonder how many red dots we will have by the end of the year?

Forces in Action

Today we looked more closely at the different types of force. We discussed friction force, gravity, applied force and many more. Have look at what we learnt.


We also looked more closely at the different types of push and pull force. Mrs Larsen and Mrs McAvoy cut out lots of picture from magazines and we wrote what force was happening in the picture and whether it was a push or pull force. Force is everywhere!

Buddy Art

Today we had another session of buddy art. This time we went to Room 12 and taught them how to observationally draw fish. After they drew a fish they were happy with we went around them with a sharpie. Next week we are going to colour them in with dye and glue them onto our wavy weave background.

CO2 Car Design

A couple of week ago Mrs Larsen introduced our new inquiry. We are going to be making a Co2 car and racing them. Before Mrs Larsen has taught us anything, we designed what we would make our Co2 car to look like. Check out some students first thoughts.

Triathlon Winners

During the weekend Joshua and Treyzhan competed in a triathlon. They were in a team made up of other children from our school and both cycled for their team. They worked extremely hard and spent weeks training. All their hard work training paid off. Treyzhan's team finished in second place and Joshua's team finished first. Awesome work. Congratulations both of you.
