Weekly Challenge

In class we have been learning all about expositions. We are currently working on answering the question "Should we behave like swine, are manners important when we dine?" Before we started to write we discussed some of the rules we have. One rules that lots of people have is, you are not allowed to put your elbows on the table. But why? No one knew why. So that is our challenge...

Why are we not allowed to put our elbows on the table when we are eating?

Duffy Book Winners

Congratulations Max and Ashton. Keep up the good work!

Blogging King

Well this week it was easy to choose. I started off by eliminating any blog that had draft posts. That left me with only 5 blogs to choose from. So I then viewed every blog to see which blog looked good. Straight away 3 were out of the running because I could see simple mistakes. It came down to Costello and Zhyon. But the winner was....

Don't give up Zhyon. You might get it next week.

King of The Den

Skyping Nathan

Nathan is so lucky. He has spent the last 5 weeks flying around the world. He has been to America, London Paris and lots more places. Now he is in Thailand. Check out his blog if you want to read more about his adventures. We have been able to Skype Nathan while he has been overseas. We found out yesterday that he has held a baby tiger, patted an adult one and had scorpions put on him. Crazy!

Earthquake!

Today we had a very interesting end to our school day. We were all busy working away and the tables started to wobble. Shortly after we realised it was an earthquake. We all quickly jumped under the tables and made turtle shells. We were so surprised at how long it lasted. Also how much our lights and artwork swayed. We asked Mrs Larsen if she could get a video of the lights for us. Luckily she had her phone with her under the door frame and was able to. Can you see the lights and artwork swaying? If you listen carefully you can even hear the door frame I was standing under squeaking.

Assembly

Last week at assembly we had a special visitor. Chris from Life Education cam to talk to us and he brought Harold with him. Harold enjoyed being silly with Chris, some lucky people were even able to give Harold a big hug, including Mr Petersen! We learnt that Harold is a good dancer. He did a little Gangnam Style for us. Very cool!

Harold

We were so lucky. This week the Life Education bus is at out school. So that means we get to see Harold. Today was our fist day in the bus. We were very excited. We got to meet Tam and Harold. We needed to help Harold with his homework so we learnt all about the different body systems and the liver. We loved watching the lights change and listening to Harold's jokes. We can't wait to go back next week.

Chinese Visitors

Yesterday we had some Chinese student from WHS come and visit us. They are on an exchange for Term 3. We showed them some Jump Jam moves, then we did the haka for them. I think we blew them away. After that we went back to class, found a buddy and asked them to show us how to write our names in Chinese. We discovered that it is very very hard! I think we are going to need lots of practice. After that we showed them our blog and all the videos. They really enjoyed seeing what we get up to. We also managed to get outside and have a game of four square and playground tag. It was heaps of fun spending time with them.

Mosston School

This afternoon we went to Mosston school to visit Mrs Roberston's class. They heard we were experts at making Co2 cars so wanted our help. Kahu and Joshua worked really hard to make a presentation for them. We all were given a buddy, we worked together to help them design their own Co2 car. We really enjoyed working with Room 4 and can't wait to work with them again. Thanks for having us Mosston, it was heaps of fun.
