We are so lucky. Akira came to school again today! We really enjoyed having a game of basketball with him.

Assembly Item

Today we had an assembly item. Everyone worked really hard. The boys did a great job!

Swimming Sports

On Tuesday everyone from the Senior School went to WIS to have their swimming sports. Everyone was very excited. We had lots of different races to enter like flutter board, freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke widths and lengths. Unfortunately half way through it started to rain so we had to cancel some races but luckily we got to have a free swim!

Managing Impulsivity

Last week we discussed the Habit of Mind Managing Impulsivity some more. We made a brainstormed what we though it meant to us...
  • Think before you do something
  • Wait
  • Stop and Think
  • Thinking about your actions
  • Considering the consequences
  • Thinking, Are you being safe?
  • Thinking about others and their feeling
  • Think about the options
  • Using manners
  • Being a role model
  • Controlling your behaviour
  • Try your best
  • Be sensible
We listened to a book on you tube. We talked about how David definitely did not manage his impulsivity!

I have found another one about David. What do you think?

Chrome Book Evening

On Monday night we had a meeting for parents so they could learn more about chrome books. We had a great turn out. We had people from Noel Leeming come to show the parents what a chrome book is. Mrs Larsen showed the parents the kinds of things we do on them. Hopefully lots of parents can buy one for their kids to use at school and home!

Rubbish Monsters

For Sea Week we went around the school and collected rubbish. We then cleaned the rubbish. Yes you read right, cleaned the rubbish. We used the rubbish to make some rubbish monsters. We think they are great!

Sea Week

Last week was Sea Week. For Sea Week we focused on protecting our fragile, finite toanga. We picked up rubbish, made rubbish monsters, read stories, learnt about different sea creatures, created glogs about protecting our ocean and played some fun games. What a great week!

Time Capsule

Last week we buried our time capsule. We put some information about us now, a photo and some lollies. I wonder how much we change over the year.
